Canopy Atlanta asked nearly 100 Collier Heights community members about the stories that would best represent their neighborhood. This video emerged from that feedback.
Canopy Atlanta also trains and pays community members, our Fellows, to learn reporting skills to better serve their community. A.B. Cooper, Jacinta Daniel, TiBerni Hall, Damius Smith, and Akua Taylor contributed to this video.
As we edit the first draft of stories for our Collier Heights Community Issue, this video shows a glimpse of what happens behind the scenes.
See highlights of a Collier Heights tour the Fellows took as part of their research and hear a little about the stories they are working on.
The tour explored some of the major streets in Collier Heights, including Oldknow Drive, Lyric Way, Waterford Road, and Skipper Drive. Collier Heights Fellow A.B. Cooper shared personal stories about his childhood in the neighborhood and growing up with the families of Wyatt T. Walker and Herman J. Russell.
