Six years ago, Canopy Atlanta started with a simple belief: every community deserves to be heard. Since then, we’ve worked alongside residents, storytellers, community leaders, and neighbors throughout metro Atlanta.
This year, we’re celebrating an important milestone: our tenth community issue.
To honor that achievement, we’re launching Neighbors Make the Difference, a campaign throughout the whole month of June to raise $10,000 in support of community-powered journalism, civic engagement, and neighborhood storytelling.

To date, we’ve trained 48 Reporting Fellows across 9 neighborhoods and more than 200 Documenters who attend and take notes at public meetings across Metro Atlanta—all paid for their work.
