It’s starting.
The long-awaited redevelopment of the West End Mall is moving from planning to action. After weeks of fencing going up around the site, the new owners—BRP Companies and The Prusik Group—filed a Special Administrative Permit with the City of Atlanta on September 4.
The site was rebranded as One West End in the fall of 2024, shortly following the sale of the property. The mall officially closed a few months later in January 2025, with only a handful of legacy businesses relocating to a building next to Planet Fitness. Since then, the developers have hosted a spring block party and launched online community listening sessions, with the next one on September 29 focused on transportation and accessibility.
According to a construction schedule shared at the September 5 West End CID meeting, the project’s next steps include at least six months of asbestos abatement and demolition, followed by phased construction.
